Teaching has always been about so much more to me than what happens in a classroom. It’s about curiosity, connection, and hopefully making something stick long after the course is over. One year ago, on our 10th anniversary together, we One year ago, on our 10th anniversary together, we exchanged vows in a simple backyard ceremony 🎊💍 Clothes from our closet, bouquet made from flowers in our garden, hand me down wine barrels as our back drop, and our children, parents & Aunty as witnesses ❤️ No guests. No gifts. Our son — then 4 years old and mis-hearing and confusing letters, cried when I asked him to walk me to the beach to “get married”. He heard “get buried” 😹 We will always look back and laugh about that 🫶🏼😂 Rob and I had both been married before so we both didn’t want another fancy, expensive wedding. We just wanted something simple to mark a date to celebrate “us” each year in the future 🍾🥂 Today as Rob is healing from losing his vision in one eye (from a detached retina & emergency surgery for it), we celebrate our love, our health, and our beautiful family ❤️ nothing fancy or expensive, just a nice dinner out elevated with the perfect glass of wine 🍷 What’s something simple in your life that you’ve celebrated that you’ll never forget? #thewinepsychologist #beachwedding #winebarrels #love #simplewedding
